Life energy flows freely, but people are such hardened creatures, all our inside hardness won’t let us live natural lives and find lasting satisfaction. We block our own life energy. Well, I say our, and it is ours, but life energy springs up inside us from nature, from our being a part of nature. Our connection to nature is deep inside us, in our internal organs. We’d be better off if we were as simple as animals, but people in the world just keep pecking at each other, making sure everybody toes the line in pretty much one set way, especially in raising children, trying to bring out the best in them and curb and disallow the worst, which we might not get right.
Every little child, at least the ones born healthy, starts out with a full body of healthy energy, but the more we train little toddlers who just want to run around and figure things out, the farther we get from nature, and you see kids today with i-phones sitting stock still with their minds in what looks like another world, not the natural one, not using their muscles or even their eyes in natural ways looking around. The way we live, our eyes don’t get full play. Our whole selves get narrowed and we miss the richness of what could have been.
The hardness in us is physical hardness, but also emotional hardness. It’s a kind of armor, an emotional armor of frozen energy to protect our feelings, but it goes too far and we become destructive and other people need armor against us. People’s meanness and spite go back and forth and around until there’s hardly anyone left with sweet feelings and natural decency. It drives people crazy living such unnatural lives. It’s a trap.
